Philanthropic Advising
Our services are available in three flexible tiers:
Hourly Engagements
Hourly engagements are designed for clients who want thoughtful, disciplined guidance without committing in advance to a longer or more structured project. This approach allows us to work collaboratively, at a measured pace, while testing the kind of support that is most useful.
Hourly work often serves as a starting point and may evolve—by mutual agreement—into a defined scope or project.
Time is billed in half-hour blocks, rounded thoughtfully to reflect the natural rhythm of the work rather than precise minute tracking.
For more information on what is included, what is excluded, invoice, payment, and a full rate sheet, please reach out to kari@goodnameadvisors.com
Project-Based Engagements
Project-based work is ideal when you want focused time and structure around a specific philanthropic initiative, decision, or transition. These engagements are designed to help individuals, couples, or families clarify and move forward with intention—without committing to ongoing support.
Whether you’re refining your giving priorities, exploring a new issue area, or navigating a moment of change, project-based work results in clear thinking and actionable next steps.
For more information, and to discuss a scope of work, please be in touch to set up an introductory zoom, meeting, or phone call.
Retainer Engagement
A retainer engagement is for individuals and families who want a steady, trusted philanthropic partner—someone who knows your values, history, and context, and can be present as questions, opportunities, and decisions arise.
This model supports philanthropy as a coherent living practice, not a series of one-off decisions. A retainer is best for families working to give together over time; for individuals managing complex or evolving portfolios; for those who value continuity, context, and trusted judgement.
In short, it is best for philanthropists and families who want a partner, not just a project.
*To ensure we are a good match, every service comes with a complimentary one-hour consultation to assess needs, fit, and expectations.
